the things we make

October 25, 2012

I’ve been wanting to make a cash box for myself for months . . . maybe even a couple of years actually. But, I’ve not found a thick enough book, or a book I’d be happy carrying around for all my shows that would ‘fit in’ with the decor and what not. Well, the days and months of waiting are over! This past acquisition I procured quite a few books that would do great as a cash box, and I decided on this vintage Dictionary for my very first cash box foray.

Inside I’ve placed the insert from my old “box store” cash box to hold all my change and cash and Square reader. I also attached a piece of matching leather with rivets and a snap button to keep it closed when traveling. Yay!! I’m super excited about it, and I can’t wait to use it this weekend at Foxfire Market in Nashville!
