The Juggling Act

July 17, 2013

Yesterday was my last day at AmericasMart in Atlanta, and I want to write down EVERYTHING I’ve learned (and then some) but until then, I want to share with you all these other wonderful things I’m a part of these days. Please support local art, local business, and . . . well, local anything!

Gathering :a handmade pop-up shop: – my pet-project that is so near and dear to my heart – I cannot wait to open up a shop to help support my local and regional artist friends and introduce their work to another audience!

Bloomington Creatives Collective – another group near and dear – our local collective here in Bloomington full of support and inspiration at every turn filled with experience from all over and artistry. Without the Collective neither Gathering or my wholesale career would be possible.

Bloomington Handmade Market – our local indie craft show representing the best of the best when it comes to indie craft! Held once per year at the Convention Center in Bloomington (Nov 9, 2013).

Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington – An amazing organization setting out to align local arts organizations and support them in the community

BEAD – Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District and Bloomington Open Studios Tour

A few weeks (maybe months) ago I was listening to Grace Bonney on After the Jump talk about juggling and how you always need to be juggling at least three things in case one drops you’ll always have the other two in the air. Listening to Grace (from Design*Sponge in case you’re unfamiliar) say that gave me hope and solidified exactly what I’m doing in this life right now : juggling away.
